  • What is the MōV Murph Challenge?
    The MōV Murph Challenge is a fitness event inspired by Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country. The workout consists of: 1-mile run 100 pull-ups 200 push-ups 300 squats 1-mile run It’s a challenge of strength, endurance, and mental toughness, but modifications are available for all fitness levels.
  • Who was Lt. Michael P. Murphy, and why is this challenge named after him?
    Lt. Michael P. Murphy was a Navy SEAL who gave his life during Operation Red Wings in 2005. He exposed himself to enemy fire to call for help, saving his team. The Murph Challenge is done in his honor, symbolizing sacrifice, perseverance, and resilience.
  • Do I have to be an athlete to participate?
    Absolutely not! The challenge is for all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced athletes. You can modify movements, take breaks, and go at your own pace.
  • I’ve never done a workout like this before. Can I still sign up?
    Yes! This challenge is about effort, not perfection. We encourage everyone to step out of their comfort zone.
  • What if I can’t do all the exercises?
    No problem. You can modify the challenge to fit your ability. For example, use resistance bands for pull-ups, do knee push-ups, or break up the reps into smaller sets.
  • Are there modifications for beginners?
    Yes! You can scale the workout by: Doing assisted or jumping pull-ups Performing push-ups on your knees or against a wall Doing bodyweight squats at a comfortable pace Walking instead of running
  • Can I walk instead of run?
    Yes! You can walk, jog, or run at your own pace. There’s no time limit.
  • How long does it take to complete the challenge?
    It varies by fitness level. Some finish in 30-45 minutes, while others take an hour or more. Go at a pace that works for you.
  • Is this a race or a competition?
    No, this is a personal challenge and a community event. There are no winners—only those who show up and push themselves.
  • What should I bring on event day?
    We recommend: Comfortable workout clothes & running shoes A water bottle A weight vest (optional) A towel and change of clothes
  • How do I register for the challenge?
    Click "Register" on the website to sign up.
  • Is there a deadline to sign up?
    No, but spaces are limited, so be sure to secure your spot early!
  • What happens after I register?
    You will receive a confirmation email with event details, access to group training sessions, and tips to prepare.
  • Do I have to do the full Murph Challenge, or can I modify it?
    You can scale the workout to fit your ability. It’s about effort, not perfection.
  • How do I add a new question & answer?
    To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Add a new question & answer 3. Assign your FAQ to a category 4. Save and publish. You can always come back and edit your FAQs.
  • Is there a registration fee?
    Yes, registration fees help cover event costs and a portion will be donated to support veteran organizations.
  • Can I sign up with a friend or a team?
    Yes! We encourage friends, family, and coworkers to sign up together.
  • Can I participate virtually if I can’t make it in person?
    At this time, the challenge is in-person only.
  • I’ve never done a pull-up. What should I do?
    Use resistance bands for assistance, do jumping pull-ups, or substitute with ring rows or dumbbell rows.
  • Are there training sessions before the event?
    Yes! Registered participants get access to group training sessions where they can train, get tips, and meet other participants.
  • Do I need a weight vest to do this challenge?
    No, the vest is optional. You can do the challenge with just bodyweight.
  • What are the best ways to train for the Murph Challenge?
    Practice bodyweight movements (pull-ups, push-ups, squats). Work on cardio endurance (running or walking). Join our training sessions for guidance.
  • How should I pace myself during the workout?
    Break the reps into smaller sets (e.g., 10 rounds of 10 pull-ups, 20 push-ups, 30 squats) to manage fatigue.
  • What if I need to stop and take breaks?
    That’s totally fine! Rest as needed and go at your own pace.
  • Can I bring my own trainer or coach?
    Yes, but we will have trainers on-site to support everyone.

  • Where does the money raised go?
    A portion of the funds will be donated to a trusted nonprofit that supports veterans.

    Yes! We need volunteers for check-in, hydration stations, and event logistics.
  • Can I come just to support and cheer on participants?
    Absolutely! We welcome spectators to encourage and motivate participants.
  • What time should I arrive?
    Plan to arrive at 10:30am for check-in and warm-ups.
  • Will there be warm-ups or guidance before we start?
    Yes! Trainers will lead a warm-up and offer tips before the challenge begins.
  • What if I can’t finish the challenge?
    No worries! Do what you can, rest when needed, and finish at your own pace.
  • Are spectators allowed?
    Yes! Invite family and friends to cheer you on.
  • Will there be food, water, or medical assistance available?
    Yes! We will have hydration stations and medical staff on-site.
  • What happens after the challenge is over?
    We’ll celebrate together, recognize participants, and reflect on the experience.
